XEOMIN is a new treatment that is used to fight wrinkles. XEOMIN is a botulinium toxin type A product that is similar to BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport, but can offer patients some results that last longer.

XEOMIN recently received approval from the FDA and is completely free of additives. It works similarly to BOTOX in that it targets the muscles that are causing wrinkles through recurrent muscle contractions. By temporarily slowing those muscles down, it can lessen the appearanace of wrinkles. XEOMIN can last longer in between treatments than BOTOX, since it is free of the proteins that can limit how effective the toxin is.

XEOMIN costs a little less than BOTOX, and will usually last longer. However, it cannot be used to treat every type of wrinkle. Your physician may suggest that you complement the treatment with an injectable filler, such as Restylane or JUVEDERM Injectable Gel.
